4- Art Of The Title Analysis

Too Many Cooks

·      We see the actors who play the main characters first in the title sequence
·      The font is bold yellow and in capitals, and the credits are at the bottom of the screen as to not get in the way of the video playing.
·      Behind the credits is a video showing each character as their name comes up, giving us a slight glimpse as to what they are like. Also they play clips of what happens during the show so we can see whether of not we want to carry on watching the show.
·      In the title sequence I like that it shows us what each character is like so we can connect with them at an early stage before it actually starts. I choose this title sequence, as I liked the bright yellow font of the text

Casper Kelly

·      He says the he wanted it so right when the audience is starting to get bored or kind of figure out what you’re doing you’ve got to zip them in another direction.
·      It was a layering process and even the day of shooting I had more ideas

Sopranos

·      In the title sequence first it is the cast and the main crew like the director and producer, who was the cast director edited by and then the rest of the crew.
·      The font is bold and white at the bottom of the page.
·      Behind the text there is a video playing sowing the main man taking a drive from New York to New Jersey. There is also a retro song playing.
·      I like the music that is playing and that we don’t actually get to see any of the characters yet making it a surprise making people want to watch it.

David Chase Producer

·      He says that he had the idea for the journey from New York to New Jersey; they wanted to be sure that the location be imprinted so people in New Jersey would watch it.

·      He says that what he wanted was to make this a really good piece of film for the title sequence. He looked at it as a little movie.
