Analyse a teen drama.(15)

Mean Girl.
This teen drama is set in a school. Which explores the various elements of the coming of age. In terms of the social all group divisions. (The nerds/preps/jocks/goths ect)
It is female orientated. So yes the main character(s) are females. It is about a teenage girl that is finally going to be in a public school, after years of being home schooled. And the challenges she faces. With other girls; Trying to fit into a crowd of people; Trying to keep and maintain friends, whiles tackling males for the first time(hormones). Meanwhile trying to stay above her work.
It shows insight of her family life, as well as her relationship(s) with everyone around her. It shows us the transformation, of a innocent girl, into a up right b*tch, then realising that, that isn't the type of girl she wants to portrayed as.

This film keeps all the codes and conventions of a teen drama throughout, rather than challenging it.

The title sequence starts off with the "Paramount Movies" and gets straight into the story. There's a backing track, that kind of gives the impression of the tempo of the film, at first, but it does change. As you go through the sequence, you get credits of the character(s). The title sequence is pretty much narrated from the start, which is the voice over of the main character through out, but there are bits and bobs with the other characters speaking  over the backing track.

Here's the trailer of the film
