Youth Drama inspirations Plan - PLANNING

PLAN

INSPIRATIONS

  • Cast from Some Girls (their dialect and character backstories).
  • Mandem On The Wall (the characters dialect, attire and where the programme is set)
  • The plot of the youth drama Youngers.

Some Girls

Some Girls Trailer:

As my group consists of all girls we thought that Some Girls would be a less challenging drama to base our title sequence on because we will be able to identify with the characters. I think that Some Girls is a good inspiration for our title sequence because they have different personalities and dress sense and we want our characters to be from the same area but have different demeanours in order to add variation to what we wanted to communicate in the title sequence.

Mandem on the Wall

This is one of the episodes of Mandem On The Wall. I like the title sequence of the episode because the audience develops an idea of what the characters are like and what area they may live in. In addition, the title sequence goes straight into the plot which keeps the audience watching and I think that the animation and graffiti iconography can be incorporated into my groups title sequence for our youth drama as well as the other features that I mentioned earlier. I think the iconography will intrigue our target audience as it is bright and characteristic.

Youngers

Youngers Trailer:

This programme is our biggest inspiration because it is based on music and a group of young teenagers trying to fulfil their dreams in the music industry and this is a plot that we want to recreate in our title sequence.

Kidulthood

This film is one of our inspiration due to it being a youth drama. The slang that is used and the social situations the characters experience will be similar to the ones that we will explore within our title sequence. The environment that Kidulthood is set in is also one of the social elements that we want to explore within our sequence.
